Holiday apartment in Baden-Baden and the Rebland
Baden-Baden is the only town in the Black Forest that feels like a city and still ends in woodland half an hour later. West of it the Rebland begins — vineyards on south-facing slopes, three villages, considerably quieter.
Worth knowing
- The Festspielhaus seats 2,500 — Germany's largest opera and concert house
- The thermal springs surface at around 68 °C and have been tapped since Roman times
- The Friedrichsbad of 1877 still runs its original 17-station sequence
- The Rebland covers Neuweier, Steinbach and Varnhalt — Riesling slopes on the Baden wine route
Best for: Culture and thermal baths without giving up forest and vineyards.

Common questions
- Is the Rebland better than the town centre?
- If quiet and a view matter, yes — the villages sit on the south slope looking over the Rhine plain, ten minutes from the centre. If you want to walk to a concert, stay in town.
- What is the difference between Caracalla and the Friedrichsbad?
- Caracalla is the modern bathing complex, swimwear worn. The Friedrichsbad is a historic Roman-Irish bath with a fixed sequence and no swimwear — two very different afternoons.
- How is Baden-Baden reached without a car?
- The station is at Oos, about four kilometres out, with frequent buses into the centre. From Frankfurt it is roughly 90 minutes by ICE.
