Family: apartment or hotel rooms
The comparison turns on one figure that appears on no hotel page: a family of five books two rooms, not one. Hotel prices are per room, so a "129 euro" hotel costs that family 258 — while the apartment's price already covers everyone. Putting the two headline numbers side by side compares a room price against a property price. So we derive the number of rooms from the occupancy rather than asking for it. And both sides eat: breakfast and restaurants for the hotel, a supermarket shop for the apartment. If the hotel is cheaper, it says so — over two nights with cheap rooms, that happens.
