Multiplying a percentage is easy. Knowing when your next deadline falls is not — and that is the number that changes a decision. "Free until 14 March, then 50 per cent" is a sentence you can book on. "50 per cent within 30 days" is a calendar exercise, and calendar exercises get postponed. You enter the tiers, because they are in your offer and every provider sets them differently; a built-in ladder would be wrong for most people. Whether travel insurance is worth its premium we do not say — that depends on how likely a cancellation is, and we do not know that.
